Create New File

The following applies to all account types:

  • The file name is required. Provide a name that will help you to quickly identify the file on the file list and to easily search for it.
  • By default the application uses the Mother and Father labels for the parties, to match the official state form. However, you may choose alternate labels from the drop-down list of common options, or enter custom names.
  • Select the desired law version if you need to use an older version of the law for this file.
  • Use the description field to save additional information about this file. The field content is not printed on any form. Use it for information you don't wish to include in the file name, but might use when searching for this file.

Press Create to create the file and start entering data.

Without an Active Subscription

Additional fields are required for accounts without an active subscription:

  • Court Name
  • Case Number
  • Petitioner's Name
  • Respondent/Co-Petitioner Name

WARNING

These values cannot be changed once the file is created.

Pro-Se Accounts

Pro-Se account holders must enter the following information:

  • Court Name
  • Case Number
  • The party type (Petitioner/Respondent/Co-Petitioner) of the account owner
  • The party type of the other party
  • The name of the other party
